We met Angie and Nigel at Phil Manzanera's studio while I was recording 'Shleep'. They started re-working Shleepsongs immediately. I was flattered and impressed.

Highlights, to my ears, include their re-construction of Philip Catherine's tune 'Maryan', and how they incorporated Paul Weller's bottleneck guitar on Mark Kramer's tune 'Free Will and Testament'. Brave and beautifully conceived.

Funnily enough, although these four remixes were done even before I'd finished recording, it was only when 'Shleep' was mixed, mastered and manufactured that I could bring myself to listen to the remixes. I was afraid of feeling hopelessly challenged by my archaic inadequacy in the face of modern computerised  know-how; of being so demoralised that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the adventure of my own eventual mixes. Pathetic really, when you think about it.
